Top 6 Factors When Buying Text Links

1.) Relevency - Make sure the site is closely related to your own
2.) PR - still a very important factor
3.) Google Backlinks (not backlinks from yahoo site explorer, most of those won' count. Should have at least a couple in google that are of equal or greater value)
3.) Uniqueness (does it pass copyscape?)
4.) Traffic (if it has any PR at all, it should be better than 2 million in alexa)
5.) Number of outbound links (should be less than ~30 per page)
6.) Age of domain ( should be older than 3 months. I like to see at least a year)

Another Consideration When Buying Text Link Ads

Advertisers always look at pagerank when purchasing text link ads. That's a given. And Savvy advertisers know to look at other statistics of a web page as well, like Google backlinks, age of domain, and Alexa rank.

But there is one important factor that is often overlooked, and it could be one of the most important factors of all.

Uniqueness of content, in my opinion, should be one of the strongest factors in determining the link value of any webpage.

Uniqueness of content provides a good, quick indication of how good the content is. Obviously, the better the content, the better chance it has of retaining it's traffic, pagerank, and overall advertising value.

While it's possible that a page can be unique, and still not be good content, unless you have the time to read every word of a page, there's just no other easy way to weed out the good from the bad.

You can check the uniqueness of a page using one of my favorite online tools, www.copyscape.com. Copyscpe will take a webpage you give it, and scour the internet looking for other webpages that have the same content on it.

This will keep you from advertising on sites that are completely syndicated. Syndicated sites often will quickly lose their high placement in SERPS and pagerank. Advertisers should keep in mind this risk when considering advertising on syndicated sites.

Build Links NOW for the Holiday Season

Don't wait until the last minute... NOW is the Time to Position Yourself Well in Search Engine Results Pages (SERPS) in preparation for the Holiday Season.

As we enter the fourth quarter of the year (my, how time flies) it a good idea to start thinking about where you want to be in the Search Engine Result Pages this holiday season.

While Google and other search engines are constantly working to improve search results, it still takes a few months for them to take into account new backlinks, update their PR, and rank results accordingly.

Therefore, if you're not where you want to be in the search results, and you want to be on that first page when the shopping season begins, then you'd better start building your backlinks up now.

We've got over a thousand quality sites now, available to publish your links. We've pre-screened, and captured statistics on them all, from PR to Alexa, to Google backlinks, to age of the site. We've also given detailed descriptions and assigned them to categories. You can search and sort on any of these values to help you find that sites to advertise on that are best for you.
