First Post!

Don't you hate that? I've always dreaded making a first post anywhere. That's probably why I've been posting in the oscommerce forums for about 3 years now, lol. In any event, I thought I'd give this blog thing a try, and see how it works out. Specifically, I'll post information on my various oscommerce projects, and different problems I encounter while working on OSCommerce stores for clients.

My current project is www.package.ie/index2.php . As you can see, this is a traditional html index template integration. This client would like 5 different sections of the template index page to by dynamic, including the category trry, featured products, whats' new box, and bestsellers, without using any of the standard sections from oscommerce. The interesting thing about this project was that when they gave me the html template, and I had begun to integrate it, I noticed that it was going to be very difficult to navigate through the cateogry tree once the customer moved away from the index level. So, the store owner decided to go back to the drawing board with the design, and come up with a more traditional category tree in the left column. Once that's complete, I'll be able to finish the integration, and move on to more of the functionality modifications that the customer has requested.

Stay tuned...
